Since 1932
Sigma Sigma Sigma Fraternity (Tri-Sig) was founded at the Potsdam Normal School on November 29th, 1932, the first fraternity at the school. The brothers disbanded due to World War II, then re-founded as Sigma Tau with the intent of joining a national fraternity. The organization became the Theta Chapter of Delta Kappa Fraternity on June 1, 1946 and then in 1953 they were forced by the State University of New York to disband from their national organization and became Delta Kappa Theta.

I am the historian of the Delphic Fraternity. We had a chapter at the Potsdam Normal School which dates back to the Baconian Society in 1870. This would make Delphic the first fraternity at SUNY Potsdam. For more information about the Delphic Fraternity Chapter at Potsdam, visit http://delphicfraternity.webs.com/historyofchapters.htm
