Phi Kappa Sigma (Clarkson) Fraternity

ΦΚΣ (ΒΧ)
Since 1981

The Beta Upsilon chapter of Phi Kappa Sigma Fraternity was chartered on December 2, 1979 with members from both Clarkson and State.  This dual-school charter was done with the blessing of their national organization.

Not quite a year later, on October 1980, a colony of Phi Kappa Sigma Fraternity began at Clarkson after their national organization changed their mind and wanted separate fraternities for each school.
Their charter was granted on April 12, 1981. The Clarkson, Potsdam State, and St. Lawrence University (closed in 2003) chapters combined made the North Country Triad.

During the fall 1992 semester, Phi Kappa Sigma returned to Clarkson after a short period of inactivity.  At the end of the Spring 2013 semester the brothers moved into the house at 30 Elm Street, formerly owned by Delta Upsilon Fraternity, and lived there for just over one school year.
