Ice Carnival: 1960s King & Queen

An Ice Carnival King and Queen were added to the event in 1932, the second year.  Some years there were two sets of Kings and Queens.  In 1952 there were two kings, due to a tie vote.  In the 60s each student got one free ballot and could buy more for a penny each. I read one article that mentioned a 5¢ fine at fraternities for swearing, and they used the funds for additional votes! Candidates had to be seniors and know how to ice skate.

Anyone know if Jerry Gibbons was in a fraternity?  I can't find this info anywhere.

1963

1964

King Frank Capozzi and Queen Sue Morris reigned over the Ice Show. King Robert Chasey and Queen Anne Rapp reigned over the Carnival ball.

SUE MORRIS - a student of the University of Mass., was the reigning "Hometown Honey." Sponsored by Tau Kappa Epsilon, Sue has spent two summers traveling in Europe. A botany major, she is resident adviser and director of social activities for her dormitory.

FRANK CAPOZZI, a Crane senior from North Syracuse, is president of Potsdam Student Government Association. A member of Psi Phi fraternity he is also Phi Kappa Pi sorority's houseboy.

ANN RAPP, this year's Ice Carnival Queen, is a psychology major and photography editor of the PIONEER. A member of Agonian sorority and Pi Delta Epsilon, National Journalism Honorary, Queen Ann will soon take office as president of Women's Student Council.

BOB CHASEY, a Clarkson senior from Rochester, is a member of Zeta Nu fraternity in which he is secretary and social chairman. A member of the Industrial Distribution Society,' Bob has worked on Ice Carnival committees.

1967

Queen Andrea "Andi" Rubach of Sigma Alpha Iota* and King Dave Hessler, AXP

*one article said Andi was the first independent to win, but another said she was a member of SAI at Crane, so perhaps they considered her an "independent" since SAI isn't a social sorority?

1968

King Rick McNerney, Zeta Nu and Queen Tessa Bacon

I don't think Tessa Bacon was in a sorority, and I can't seem to find anything for 1969.  If you've got information please email me.
